DZOGCHEN TEACHINGS with Tsoknyi Rinpoche – Hong Kong 2024
Dzogchen Teachings of Trekchö I (Thoroughly cutting through) with Tsoknyi Rinpoche
Origin and Teaching Briefs
Upon request of Pundarika Hong Kong for further Dzogchen teachings in 2023, with compassion, Tsoknyi Rinpoche consented to offer Trekchö I and Trekchö II this year.
Both teachings are designed to prepare students for future “Advanced Dzogchen retreats” in the Asian region. Advanced retreats require completion of Subtle Body and Trekchö I TWICE. Further, Trekchö I must be completed over different years. Should you complete Trekchö I twice in the same year, it can only be treated as once.
Trekchö I
Trekchö, or cutting through, practice of the Great Perfection, which directly introduces the student to the luminous purity of the mind’s essence. The student must be pointed out directly by a master of Dzogchen. In Trekchö I, Rinpoche will give pointing out instructions to the students, to pave the way to recognizing Rigpa – the nature of dharmakaya. Once we have a glimpse of Rigpa from Trekchö I, we need to maintain such a recognition. In Trekchö II, Rinpoche will continue to provide further guidance, and enlighten us with the unique Dzogchen meditation practice.
The Need for Receiving Repeated Pointing Out Instructions For Rigpa to occur naturally, continuously, steadily and freely, we need to practice diligently and repeatedly. Receiving pointing out instructions again and again provides the benefit of strengthening our practice, as emphasised by Tsoknyi Rinpoche, who has received 60 – 70 or more pointing out instructions from his father, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, and other gurus. |
Trekchö II
In Trekchö II (previously termed Enhanced Trekchö Practice), requires students to have solid experiences in the practice. Rinpoche will clarify common misunderstandings and doubts in practicing mind nature. For example, how we can differentiate real from fake Rigpa, how we may recognize Rigpa again after distractions, and dealing with emotions and disturbances.
