About Rinpoche
Tsoknyi Rinpoche
Tsoknyi Rinpoche III is an important lama of both the Drukpa Kagyu and Nyingma lineages. His father was Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, one of the great masters of Dzogchen and Mahamudra; and his brother, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, a renowned Tibetan Buddhist meditation master. Tsoknyi Rinpoche upholds the Tsoknyi Lineage, providing spiritual and material support for hundreds of nuns in Tibet and Nepal.
Rinpoche has been teaching students worldwide about the innermost nature of mind in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. His fresh insights into the western psyche have enabled him to teach and write in a way that touches our most profound awareness, using metaphors, stories and images that point directly to our everyday experience. He is widely recognized as a brilliant meditation teacher, and is the author of three books, Open Heart Open Mind, Carefree Dignity, and Fearless Simplicity. Rinpoche also has a keen interest in the ongoing dialogue between western research, especially in neuroscience, and Buddhist practitioners and scholars.
