Prayer Request

Our nuns are committed to puja every morning and evening.  You can request and sponsor the recitation of prayers for yourself or others.  60 mantras are chanted for each prayer request. Blessings are dedicated according to requests.  The following is a list of common prayers.  Pujas for the deceased are explained separately.

 

Auspicious prayer:  To establish favourable conditions for starting a new project, wedding, birth of a child, etc.	HK$ 250
Guru Rinpoche : For protection, blessings and removing obstacles.	HK$ 250
Tara : For protection, long life, and removing obstacles.	HK$ 250
Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) : For general purpose and to increase compassion.	HK$ 250

Pujas for the deceased                           

1.  Shitro Prayer:  Donation HK$3,000

– This prayer session will be performed by all 140 nuns at Tsoknyi Gechak Ling for one entire day. In addition, there will be a Tsok and Service Offering, meals and tea for the nuns, and the lighting of 1,000 butter lamps.

2.  Duntsik Prayer : Donation HK$7,200

– For those who have just passed away (includes Shitro). Ten nuns will perform a one-day prayer session, each week, for six weeks. On the seventh and last week, a day-long Shitro prayer ceremony will be performed by all the nuns.

Fire Ceremony : At the end of the Duntsik prayers, a Fire Ceremony will be conducted during which the photo of the deceased will be burned. This is a symbolic encouragement to the deceased to release any attachment from the body and the identity that needs to be left behind.
